Find Your Dream Cabin Today

  • When I order the plans, how do I get a full size set and what size are the plans?
All of our plans are designed on Architectural D size sheets of paper, or 36"x24" paper. The document you receive is a PDF and can be printed at any printer that does blueprinting, such as Staples, UPS Stores, etc.
  • Can I make changes to the cabin plans?
Unfortunately, DIY Cabins does not offer changes to our plans. However, if you wish to make changes, you can contact 3D Visual Studios. They offer customization services and will bill you hourly for any changes made. Please note that any changes made to the plans may affect the structural integrity of the cabin and its compliance with building codes and regulations. It is important to consult with a licensed professional before making any modifications to the plans.
  • Can I hire a log home company to build my cabin for me?
Yes, you can! Most log home companies have the expertise and experience to build your cabin to plan. However, it's important to shop around and find a log home company that is reputable and trustworthy. Look for companies that have a proven track record of success and plenty of positive customer reviews. Additionally, be sure to ask for references and check them thoroughly before hiring a company to build your cabin.
  • Are these plans engineered for my specific area?
These plans have been designed for an "average" snow, wind and seismic condition. It is our recommendation that all plans be reviewed for compliance in your area, both structurally and for codes. DIY Cabins and 3D Visual Studios assumes no responsibility for code compliance or structural loading for your specific area.
  • Are the plans provided by DIY Cabins easy to follow, and can someone with no building experience use them?
The plans provided by Diy Cabins are highly detailed and comprehensive, covering all aspects of the cabin building process. While some level of building experience may be helpful, the plans are designed to be accessible and user-friendly for those with little to no experience. However, it's important to note that building a cabin is a complex process that requires careful attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. We recommend that all customers take the necessary precautions and seek professional advice if needed.
